Growing up my dad had always told me that breakfast was the most important meal of the day. I wasn't allowed to leave the house until I had some sort of food in my system. Whether it was a complete meal like pancakes, eggs and sausage or yogurt and a granola bar it didn't matter. I just had to get something in my tummy.
For the most part I always managed to get a complete breakfast in before school started but there were a few days where I was running late, and a granola bar just didn't seem appealing to me. Thankfully, my dad had lots of yummy smoothie recipes I could choose from. His smoothies are filled with muchas vitaminas + crafted with lots of love.
My favorite was his banana-berry smoothie. It's very refreshing and perfect for this hot summer weather. It's super easy + quick to make, plus I promise you will all love it just as much as I do.
You'll need:
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup of blueberries
- 3/4 cup of orange juice
- 3/4 cup of almond milk
- A handful of ice
All you have to do is mix all the ingredients in a blender and you're set! I like to add chocolate protein powder if I know I'll be working out that day, but it tastes yummy either way!
